Fabulous location - five minutes' walk from the station, yet right on the edge of the historic centre too. Very good service - we arrived before 1200 and were still able to check-in. A lovely light and very clean room, with a balcony! Excellent bed, very comfortable. I'd say it's excellent value.

Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only...
Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty museums to visit and the oldest university in the Netherlands, Botanical gardens and Rembrandt's home and studio. Canal cruises and cycle hire to explore the outer part of the city. Plenty places to eat. We tended to eat at the restaurant near the hotel. Ideal location to visit both Delft and the Hague from. Would hope to return again. I travelled with 18 members of my family and stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel. Everyone thought Leiden was an excellent location to visit Keukenhof, Delft and the Hague from.

Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands...
Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands. Much more pleasant than staying in Amsterdam and only a short 20 minute train ride directly to Schiphol Airport. Could not be more convenient and relaxing.

Leiden is a great place to stay.
Leiden is a great place to stay. It’s like staying in a mini Amsterdam without as many people. Lovely canals to walk around and lots of small individual places to eat. Very peaceful to stroll around with a lovely market held on Saturday and Wednesdays. We took one of the walking tours around the town which you can buy at the local tourist information office. Also enjoyed going up the Windmill, but be prepared for a steep climb down. Well worth a visit!

Lovely city to walk in.
Lovely city to walk in.
All the people we met and staff in bars and hotel were helpful and friendly.
Sadly only had time for one visit - to Hortus Botanicus- which was well worth the time.
Would plan to visit again.

Leiden and its surrounding offers you a lot if you like...
Leiden and its surrounding offers you a lot if you like walking in beautiful old cities alongside canals. A windmill that is seemingly so simple can explain Dutch social history but there are many other interesting museums as well, and a very special botanical garden. Public transport is well organised (except on special days) and you can reach gems outside the city like Spinoza house or lakeside restaurant. The sea is not far away either.
The hotel is located in a historical building a short walk from the main Leiden train station. It was also within walking distance of restaurants and shops on the main shopping street Haarlemmerstraat. Note that the building where the lobby is located and where we checked in is in a separate building from where our room was located. The room was located on the second floor. It had a great view of the canal and was also very quiet and comfortable. The hotel had history and character and made for a very pleasant stay in Leiden.
The location is absolutely superb! Train and bus station literally across the road makes the hotel easily accessible. Situated around several amenities. Beautiful stroll into and around town from very central location!
All staff were wonderful, particularly Egla and Sharon. Both provided brilliant service throughout our stay. Special thanks to Egla, who was wonderfully welcoming when checking us in. She was professional, friendly and a very warm welcome to our stay in Leiden. Thank you!
The staff are outstanding! The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I truly enjoyed the breakfasts at TED's All Day Brunch which is where breakfast is served if you purchased the room including breakfast. Worth the extra costs for sure. The hotel is about 800 meters from Leiden Centraal an easily walkable distance but a taxi is also reasonable at 12.50 Euro. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to central parking area where you can walk to everywhere and it is FREE.
- The location is perfect! Leiden Centraal (train station) is a couple of minutes away from you
- Right in front of the living room you look at the beautiful windmill
- The house is warm and the toilet has heated floors
- We thought the couch was small but we found out last day that it's extendable!!
- Kitchen had everything you'd need to make things inside
- The instructions were clear and easy
The hotel is gorgeous. We picked because it was a boutique hotel and a lovely treat. The staff are very welcoming and wanted us to,have a good experience. The room was lovely - very comfortable and spacious and lovely finishing touches. Breakfast was very tasty, too. The location is great for exploring Leiden and a 15-20 minute walk from the railway station.
I liked the personal service at this hotel. The whole staf is very friendly and helpfull . The Hotel provides a relax feeling. The room was clean with a nice design and have an amazing view over the Morspoort. The breakfast was Fantastic.. The Hotel is centrally located in the center of the beautiful City of Leiden. I recommend this hotel.
The hotel is a traditional Dutch house, ideally located in the old city centre of Leiden, almost on Pieterskerk square. The train station is 15 minutes walking distance. Rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. There is a self check-in procedure which makes your arrival very easy.
My stay included at least one round trip by bus or train each day. Being close to Leiden Centraal was very helpful. The staff was most helpful and kind. I especially appreciated the assistance from Egla.
We had a great time in the Rembrandt hotel in Leiden. Checkin was smooth and communication around getting the key and breakfast was well taken care of. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean.
The reception staff were genuinely exceptionally helpful and friendly at Golden Tulip Leiden Centre. The 5th floor suite we stayed in were very tastefully furnished, spacious and comfortable.
Fantastic location, walk from train station, in historic part of Leiden. Lovely, well-appointed room, all the conveniences. Enjoyed the breakfast in the pretty breakfast room.
